Glen Swan is the man when it comes to bicycles. He also happens to be a really nice guy, too. I took my (new to me) bike in for a check/tune-up. He probably spent 20min making minor adjustments and didn't charge me anything. He also replaced brake and gear shift lines and repaired my son's bike for $50, parts included. He (and his employees, too) takes a lot of time to educate and advise. One note - he doesn't take credit cards, so make sure you bring your checkbook or stop at an ATM.
I agree with Max—It is indeed the best bike shop in the N.E., in fact I've never been to a better bike shop. Glenn and his staff have an amazing selection of gear at very competitive prices, as well as the best possible expertise. I've learned so much from the good folks at Swans, and always feel good shopping there. They're especially good at tricky repairs and recommendations. Out-of-town cycling fanatics should flock to Mt. Pleasant!
Not much to add to what other reviews have had to say. Glen Swan is one of the great treasures of the Ithaca area. He will fix your bike and charge you very little. He will never sell you anything you don't need.
Unlike any other shop I've ever been to. An absolutely incredible bike service experience. Glenn is a great guy, a hell of a cyclist, works quickly, has a range of expertise that can't be found anywhere else. Swan Cycles has a vibe of its own and is truly a tribute to cycling
Glenn has been a friend for over 10 years, always dispensing good advice and offering great service. He's always been helpful to me and my teammates and friends who have gone there for everything from education workshops to fast repairs, to full bike setups. If you are in the Ithaca area, this is the go-to shop.
